Parish Council and Consultation
We encourage all residents to engage with the Parish Council and share their feedback directly. As the elected body representing the community, the Parish Council plays an important role in communication, gathering feedback and helping to shape positive change.
Working in collaboration with Heyford Park Parish council has allowed us to identify and improve a variety of points raised by residents including:
Community Liaison Meetings
We hold quarterly Community Liaison Meetings, which are typically attended by representatives from Heyford Park School, Heyford Park Parish Council, Thames Valley Police, the Community Warden, and the Community Development Worker. These meetings provide an opportunity for stakeholders to share feedback on community matters and raise any concerns. Members of the Dorchester Living senior management team, including the CEO, attend each meeting to ensure that community feedback is heard, considered, and acted upon where appropriate.
In addition, we work collaboratively with and meet regularly with Oxfordshire County Council, Cherwell District Council, Heyford Park Parish Council, Enterprise Oxfordshire and other bodies.
Onsite road improvements
A programme of onsite road improvements was identified, with Dorchester establishing a delivery timeline and providing regular updates to the Parish Council throughout the process. Approximately 90% of the works have now been completed, reflecting significant progress.
Youth activities
Through youth consultation, we identified a strong desire within the teenage community for a pump track. In response, we amended the Phase 9 plans, replacing a proposed tennis court with the delivery of this facility.
The pump track has been designed and constructed by Clark & Kent, specialists known for their work on the 2012 Olympic BMX track. Featuring a carefully designed series of rollers and banked turns, it provides a high-quality riding experience suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Consultation
We are committed to listening to our residents and truly value the input of the community we serve. We believe that the best places are shaped by the people who live in them.
We have held a range of consultation events, some of which have been conducted in partnership with Heyford Park Parish Council.
